The requirement of the client was to remove, renew and modernize the whole power plant of the floating dock to ensure enough active power to supply boats with a 60Hz power grid. The power plant is consisting of two units on the opposite side of pontoons.
Scope of work required:
- Remove old high voltage transformers
- Remove old equipment, cabinets, cables, cable trays, etc...
- Install new high voltage transformer
- Installation and commissioning of two variable frequency drives, which are connected to transformer secondary windings
- Both power plants on pontoons were modernized with Siemens PLC connected in optical network
- PLC’s were integrated with the old monitoring system to provide better flexibility
- The whole automation system included with all circuit breakers were commissioned by our team of expert engineers
